Running Netscape with AOL

Don't try this if you only have 4 Mb RAM.

  1. Get AOL's winsock by going to Winsock Central (keyword WINSOCK). Click on the Software Library icon and download WINSOCK for AOL 2.5.

  2. Put WINSOCK.DLL in the AOL directory.

  3. Get Netscape, if you haven't already. You can get it here. It's simply the best browser on the market.

  4. Copy the Netscape icon to the AOL folder.

  5. Set the "Properties/Working Directory" for that Netscape icon to that AOL directory. Of course, leave the "Properties/Command Line" alone.

  6. Login to AOL, minimize and then invoke Netscape.
